More than two years after the death of legendary Milan striker Stefano Sorrentino, the club that has always prided itself on its love for the football of the legendary legend will once again face Roma at San Siro.
After a 1-1 draw on Tuesday night, the Rossoneri could only manage to win 2-1 thanks to goals from Mario Mandzukic and Andrea Paletta.
The Nerazzurri, who last won a Serie A title in 2014, have now won just one of their last eight league games and lost their last three home matches in all competitions.
The victory means they are unbeaten in their last 18 league matches, although they are currently on top of the Serie A table.
Roma have also managed to stay at the top of Serie A since Mandzuka’s retirement in 2008.
They are currently second in the table, having won their last five league matches.
They have scored just twice in their previous eight league matches after netting twice in the last five.
This time around, Roma have the better of the chances and have taken advantage of Milan’s inability to score.
Marco Borriello and Stefano Pioli combined to score twice in a 1:1 draw at the San Sibiu Stadium on Saturday, which saw the Giallorossi extend their unbeaten run to seven matches.
